About My Clients
With adults, I work mostly with grief and loss, relationship issues, and rediscovering yourself after experiencing a traumatic relationship. I have vast experience working in the world of divorce, children with two households, stepfamilies, and blended families. Finally, I have much experience working with disabilities, acceptance of those disabilities, awareness of it, and how to advocate for yourself or your child.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Duquesne University with a MEd in Counseling. I worked as a Provisional Professional Counselor in community mental health before entering school counseling and have been in the school counseling field for the last ten years. Two years ago, I re-entered the mental health field (in addition to my school counseling job), working first as an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor and then as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I plan to re-enter mental health counseling full time in June of 2025, but right now, I am working part-time as a play therapist in person and also doing telehealth. I am also currently working to become a registered play therapist.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Preventing suicide is a strong passion of mine. The only way that life doesn't get better is if you aren't here to live it and see it get better. It will always get better with help. I am also a cochlear implant recipient and that has been a life-changer for me. I am a strong advocate for cochlear implants and accessibility for those with disabilities.
