About My Clients
Would you describe your life as feeling like a dumpster-fire lately? Are you super anxious and wish everyone/life would stop asking more things of you? Do you have a lot of anxiety not having control of everything? Do you often say 'yes' when you want to say 'no'? Do you feel like you're pretending your way through life? If it's a 'yes' to any of these, you and I may be a good therapist-client match.
My Background and Approach
I counsel clients with evidenced-based modalities and a trauma-informed lens to help them go from anxiously people-pleasing, fearing the worst, and stuffing down their feelings, beliefs, and needs to being assertive, empowered, and certain of their worth, so that they can lead fulfilling lives with confidence, curiosity, self-expression, and joy. I earned my Masters' in Community Mental Health Counseling from the University of Rochester in western New York in 2014. I have worked as a therapist in NY, OR, and CO. (I am licensed in OR and CO.) Having been a therapist for over a decade, I have gained a lot of experience with anxiety, depression, codependency, grief, family dysfunction (conflict, enmeshment, estrangement, DV, abuse), trauma, perfectionism, BPD, CPTSD, eating disorders and body image concerns, ADHD, and general life challenges/transitions. I have worked both in community mental health and group practice, counseling children, teens, adults, and families.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that life is precious, wild, and incredibly painful, that as humans, we are resilient and fragile, and that we are not meant to be alone or do life alone. I believe that any remnant of stigma around getting mental health counseling is complete bullshit. It's incredible tool to grow and evolve.
