About My Clients
Whether you're struggling with life transitions and adjustments, battling depression or anxiety, stuck in addiction or wanting ways to improve interpersonal relationships I'm here when you're ready to explore the possibilities for healing and better understanding. I love working with people from all backgrounds and ages and have a niche for young adults and am LGBTQIA+ allied.
My Background and Approach
With degrees in both addictions and clinical mental health I am very versatile in my approach and expertise. I mainly work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective where we would explore and address maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck. By changing perspective and how things are processed through your mind can create change and better management of life's struggles. When needed different approaches can be used like ACT, mindfulness cognitive behavioral therapy and others to personalize your therapeutic experience and treatment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Realizing that you may need help with the things you struggle with in life can be the hardest step in the process of asking for help. I respect my clients and meet them where they're at in life and give clients a lot of autonomy in their therapeutic experience. I like to tell my clients that therapy is like walking through a forest. There will places that have well treaded trails and other parts where it's dark and unexplored. Exploring the dark and untraversed can feel scary, but if you have a guide to lead the way it may not be as scary as once thought before. I will help you explore those areas of the forest that may have been avoided or too overwhelming previously and go at your pace to forge new pathways.
