About My Clients
Are you living in Kansas and experiencing symptoms of hopelessness? anxiety? depression? Taking that first step to seek help can be a scary one. Life is full of many ups and downs, and seeking therapy can help one develop the tools to better equip themselves during the difficult times. I believe, by partnering with families and local communities and organizations, providing mental health services, that the path to hope can be discovered in a seemingly hopeless circumstance.
My Background and Approach
My personal mission is to improve access to quality mental health care in the rural Kansas, particularly the Baldwin City/Lawrence/Ottawa/Gardner area and other neighboring towns. My primary philosophical approach to treatments and interventions is from a Strengths-Based Perspective which puts the strengths and resources of people, communities, and their environments at the center of the helping process rather than the problems and pathologies. Some of the treatment approaches that I utilize are CBT, DBT, SFBT, and Family Systems. I've worked in the mental health field for over 7 years in a variety of positions and received my Masters of Social Welfare Degree from the University of Kansas in 2019. Issues I commonly work with include: trauma, anxiety, depression, behavior problems, ADHD, divorce, parenting struggles, anger, grief/loss, and adjustment issues.
