About My Clients
I have extensive experience supporting kids and teens experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression, emotional dysregulation, or difficulties at home or school. Many times families come to me for support to work through and move beyond power struggles. Other times a divorce, loss, or other adjustment prompts a client to reach out to me. Or it may be that their child or teen is having big feelings they don't know how to manage, or they're having trouble with communication or connection.
My Background and Approach
I'm a registered, board-certified art therapist, licensed professional counselor, and director of Artful Explorations Therapy in Philadelphia PA. I hold a Master's Degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Drexel University. I meet clients where they are and help them engage in the creative process of making art as a way to express themselves, increase insight, spark change, make connections, and develop problem solving skills. Fostering a positive therapeutic relationship and a supportive space for communication and growth is an important part of my approach. Throughout my career, clients have come to me for support in navigating through a range of issues and experiences including: generalized anxiety, social anxiety, autism, depression, adjustments, divorce, grief/loss, and emotion dysregulation. I have over a decade of experience working with children and youth of all ages in a variety of outpatient and school-based settings, and with adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
