About My Clients
Do you find yourself worrying about your child's worries and wonder if their worries will just go away on their own? Are you overwhelmed by your child's behaviors? These concerns are so common, but they can make you feel so alone, and make you feel like you're walking on eggshells around your child. Using evidence-based practices, I will help you regain control of your parenting experience, and help you to support your child through their challenges. We will do it together!
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over 15 years of experience working in homes, schools, and in private practice treating children with anxiety and behavior disorders. My clinical approach will give you the tools you need to support your children long-term. I believe that behavior is nuanced - it is the result of a learning history that includes biology, family systems, culture, and parenting style. Combined with my solution-focused therapeutic approach, I use the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you understand the "why" of your child's behaviors and help you support them in developing new skills. I am also trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) and will help you develop skills that are clinically proven to alleviate childhood anxiety.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you are the best parent for your child and that even the best parents need help sometimes. As a mom of three little ones, I know how overwhelming, and oftentimes confusing, behavior management and social-emotional support can feel. Anxiety is not a result of bad parenting, and as parents, we have tremendous power in the way we support our children’s worries. My goal is to provide parents with the resources to help them feel empowered in supporting their children behaviorally and socially-emotionally using strategies, evidenced by science and practiced in reality.
