About My Clients
Choosing therapy is a big step toward finding your own power to heal. Whether you are looking to learn more about yourself and how to cope with stress and anxiety, resolve interpersonal conflicts, improve your self-esteem, or seeking to reintegrate trauma from your past to find safety and comfort in the present, you are a whole person. Let's work together to find a path that makes the most sense for you.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is psychodynamic and eclectic. I work with you to tune in to what modalities may be the most useful in working toward your therapeutic goals. Having this collaborative and client-centered approach establishes a safe, non-judgemental space to discuss the things that are on your mind that you might not want to share with anyone else.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy is an all-inclusive, affirmitive, welcoming space for you to bring your innermost thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Sharing this inner world with someone else might be uncomfortable or even scary at first, but establishing a trusting relationship with your therapist can help you confront the personal, systemic, and societal barriers that may be preventing you from realizing your self-worth and achieving your goals. Because I realize that I am only human, I also place importance upon doing my own therapeutic work so that I can be present with my clients and help them recognize their own potential. Finally, I am a strong supporter of the LGBTQ community and value the perspective of feminist psychology, both in my personal and professional life. I engage in efforts to promote social justice, practice cultural humility, and combat the stigmas surrounding mental health care.
