About My Clients
Together we will explore how to help you feel less overwhelmed, stuck, or lost. You will learn tools on how to cope with overwhelming thoughts/emotions, how to work through difficult relationship situations, and how to be more at peace with yourself. I also work with children and teens who are struggling. If you are a parent and are unsure how to help your child, you are not alone. I am here to support you and your child and to provide the tools needed for your child to thrive.
My Background and Approach
We will create a plan together to help you feel more confident handling strong emotions that may come up for you. My approach combines teaching skills on how to cope with difficult emotions while also working on any past difficulties that may be blocking you from living the life you want right now. I also like to work relationally to build a trusting therapeutic relationship so that you feel comfortable talking about anything that may be bothering you. I received my graduate degree at Pacifica Graduate Institute in counseling psychology with an emphasis in depth psychology. I have a wide range of experience working with a variety of different traumas including abuse, neglect, and childhood difficulties. I have experience working with children in a school-base setting and at a child psychiatric agency. I have also participated in a three year intensive, in-depth training institute with adults that involved learning how to deeply listen and provide high quality psychotherapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has the right to receive support for any problem or struggle, no matter who you are, where you come from, what you look like, or who you love. I am passionate about human rights and advocating for those who have been oppressed. I am an alley to the LGBTQ+ community and to the many different religious/cultural/racial communities. As a cis-gendered Caucasian woman, I work hard to understand my own privileges and strive to continue learning to be more aware of my blind spots. I am passionate about talking about issues like privilege and oppression, and am open to hearing your beliefs and thoughts. I would like to hear your story and if you have ever felt marginalized, oppressed, or privileged.
