Accepting Clients

Hi! I'm Kristen. I help parents and kids connect, heal, and overcome challenges together.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Redlands, CA

About My Clients

I often work with parents who feel lost and overwhelmed. Sometimes they are concerned about their child's behavior. Other times, they can see that their child is struggling or going through something hard, but they're not sure how to help. Together, we can better understand your child’s needs, and how to help them unlock their fullest potential. We also discover how to tap into your unique skills and strengths as a parent, so you feel more confident, in control, and at peace.

My Background and Approach

As an Infant-Family & Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist, I draw on clinical experience, child development, attachment, and body work to deeply understand my clients. I approach each session with compassion and curiosity. Things we may try: 1. Play therapy: Play is the primary language of children. Children play out things that happened or that they are wondering about in order to process and understand. Play therapy gives children a way to express themselves, work through intense feelings, and communicate their needs. 2. Learning calm-down skills: Children (and adults) can get overwhelmed by big feelings. Together, we can help your child learn to regulate their emotions safely. 3. Strengthening your relationship with your child: Sometimes we get caught up in unhelpful dynamics or our relationships become strained—getting you and your child more in sync an improve your day-to-day life, and will set your child up for success.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My mission is to help caregivers break intergenerational cycles of trauma, and set themselves and their kids up for more joyful, connected lives. I believe that if we support parent and caregivers better, and lay the groundwork for kids' emotional wellbeing early on, we can prevent mental illness and suffering down the road. Rather than try to "fix" or change symptoms or behavior, I seek to understand the feelings, unmet needs, and wounds behind the ways my clients act and cope, which helps them move toward deeper healing and change. I am committed to social justice and anti-oppression in my practice.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
