About My Clients
I specialize in stress management, anxiety, mood disorders, and navigating life changes. From teens and young adults managing the stressors of middle or high school, university life, or entering the workforce to adults struggling with job changes, relationship issues, or family stressors; I can help you find the tools to navigate these changes. As the wife of a Veteran, I also have an understanding of the unique needs of those in a military family.
My Background and Approach
I earned my BA in Psychology from St. Mary’s University and my MA in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University-San Antonio. I have years of experience in a mental health setting, having worked as both a children’s case manager/skills trainer during my internship and a counselor in training at a day program for adults with severe mental illness. I use a person-centered approach while also using CBT and solution focused techniques to find the perfect individualized approach for your unique situation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in a collaborative approach between therapist, teen, parents, and the family as a whole. I believe that everyone has the strength and ability to succeed deep within themselves, even if you can’t see it because of your current situation or mindset. I want to help you find that inner ability, pull from that innate strength, and learn the techniques that will help bring out the best you have within you. We are all survivors and sometimes we just need a reminder and a hand to hold to help us through the dark times.
