About My Clients
I work with adults, teens, and preteens navigating anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and grief — with a particular dedication to the South Asian community and the unique pressures that come with living between cultures. Whether you're holding the weight of family expectations, processing a loss, working through the aftermath of trauma, or simply feeling like something is off — this is a space where you can be honest, messy, and real.
My Background and Approach
I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities and tailor my approach to what each person actually needs: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — identifying and shifting unhelpful thought patterns Relational - valuing the relationship we build through transparency, humor, compassion... learning about each other in a deep and fundamental way because the relationship we create is the crux of the work. Trauma-Focused approaches — working carefully and safely through traumatic experiences via trauma focused cbt, attachment based therapy, somatic processing, and mindfulness/self-compassion practices. Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) - consulting with parents/caregivers on the best ways to show up for our next generation and meet their needs. Multicultural & Family Systems frameworks- because you don't exist outside of your relationships and context… they all deserve space to be processed and explored.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am curious, warm, and direct. I value transparency in the therapeutic relationship — which means I'll share my genuine reactions, gently challenge you when it's useful, and always work collaboratively with you rather than at you. I am especially passionate about working with South Asian clients. Navigating mental health as a South Asian person often means confronting generations of silence, the pressure of "model minority" expectations, immigration and acculturation stress, family enmeshment, and the grief of cultural displacement. These are not small things — and they deserve space in therapy. I speak Gujarati and Hindi, and I understand the cultural context that shapes many of my clients' lives. You do not have to translate your world for me. I also provide affirming, thoughtful care to LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, and anyone who has felt like mainstream therapy wasn't quite made for them.
