About My Clients
I work with adults and have experience working with cisgender men, women, non-binary, and members of the LGBTQIA community. I strive to provide an affirming environment as well as challenge the toxic messaging surrounding issues of masculinity, mental health, and substance issues. My philosophy is that I am the co-pilot and am here to assist my clients in their journey.
My Background and Approach
After my own counseling experience, my purpose became clear - to help others. I have a Master's Degree in Addictions Counseling and I am currently licensed as an Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Counselor. I seek to establish a safe space for people to explore their thoughts, behaviors, beliefs in a healthy manner. I utilize a variety of methods and techniques appropriate to the person such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered, solution-focused, and reality therapy, to name a few. I have experience working with depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, ADHD, loss, grief, and addiction.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy starts with a conversation and forming a therapeutic connection. I believe that people possess the power to change their circumstances provided they are willing to put in the necessary work to achieve their goals. I believe that those seeking therapy have made a brave decision and I wish to provide a non-judgmental, non-biased perspective on the issues they are struggling with. I wish for people to leave therapy with tools to empower themselves and hopefully a brighter outlook.
