About My Clients
I work with children, adolescents, and families experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, dissociation, big emotions, or difficult life experiences. Many of the children I work with have a hard time putting their feelings into words, so therapy may look different than traditional talk therapy. I work at the child’s pace and use play, art, movement, and other creative approaches to help them feel understood and supported.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker Supervisor, Registered Play Therapist, and EMDRIA-Approved Consultant in Training. My work is primarily focused on trauma, dissociation, anxiety, and depression. I use a prescriptive approach, meaning I do not believe there is one type of therapy that works for every child, adolescent, or family. I tailor treatment to each client and may incorporate play therapy, EMDR, parts work, expressive arts, bibliotherapy, and sandtray depending on their needs and treatment goals. I believe children communicate and process experiences in many different ways, and play can give them a way to express things that may be difficult to put into words. My goal is to create a warm, safe, and welcoming space where clients can be themselves, build new skills, and work through difficult experiences at their own pace.
