It's not fair that change can't always be easy, but we can lean into your strengths and interests to find the strategies with less friction instead of expecting you'll find hidden energy to just "try harder." We can create a better present for you, not just a better future.
My Background and Approach
With a background in neuroscience and psychobiology, I help make sense of the why behind how we react to stress so you can get more comfortable with your brain, body, and emotions. I also pull from my lived experience moving between cultures to help you find and utilize the strengths in your culture while holding less tightly to the expectations that hurt you. I've worked in primary-care, residential, and inpatient treatment with people struggling to find enough reasons to live or challenge their fears, trying out coping mechanisms that don't steal joy or years off your life, and creating space for themselves to thrive amid harsh systems. We can start wherever you’re stuck right now, whether that’s a place of overwhelm, shifting identity/roles, being your own worst critic, or having an idea of what you need but not how to want it. I’m not disappointed if you’re not excited for change. Therapy with me is collaborative, with plenty of room for humor, ambivalence, and works in progress.
