About My Clients
Over time, however, many of us lose touch with our personal values and others of us never have the opportunity to truly understand what our purpose and values could be. Many of us also find ourselves holding onto beliefs that no longer serve the person we are today. My therapeutic approach works to give clients the space to understand how the beliefs gathered from our past and present experiences work to both benefit and be a hindrance to us.
My Background and Approach
I received my B.A. in psychology from the University of Houston, with a minor in women's Studies, and my M.A. in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from NYU Steinhardt. My background in psychology and women's studies along with my MA in counseling have in turn provided me with the skills to understand mental health from an intersectional perspective. Through my education I have been able to understand the impact the systems we live in have on our well-being, and the relationship between our identities, and how we process our experiences and emotions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Here we can ask ourselves the tough questions to understand how consciously and unconsciously your past and present experiences within and outside our socio-cultural upbringing work to both benefit and be a hindrance to you. Together we can process the beliefs and experiences that have made you who you are and create a plan towards beginning or continuing your journey towards self-discovery and empowerment. Using these answers as tools to understand who you are and what you stand for. We will create a plan towards beginning or continuing your journey towards living in your values and walking in your purpose.
