About My Clients
Hey, I’m proud of you for seeking out therapy. It might feel hopeless to try to make change for yourself when so much of what ails you is outside of your power to control. Even in a world where systems of oppression such as white supremacy, capitalism, patriarchy and colonialism contribute to the distress and trauma many of us face, I believe that therapy can help you to create powerful change for your self, your relationships, and your community.
My Background and Approach
I invite you to bring your whole, complex human self to this process: your weird parts, your confusing parts, your humor and awkwardness, your hopes and fears. All of you and all of your experience is welcomed here with respect and compassion, and I aim to understand and accept whatever you bring into the therapy space. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is a foundational element of healing, and showing up as your whole self is crucial to the process. I use a variety of techniques from different therapeutic approaches, including parts work (IFS), narrative therapy, polyvagal theory and somatic techniques, emotionally focused therapy (EFT) and psychoeducation. As a sex therapist I am trained and experienced in supporting clients with gender identity, sexual and romantic orientation, intimacy, alternative relationship structures, sexual trauma and sexual health concerns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I love friendship and community, and I hate capitalism for making them so hard to access. I'm an artist and musician with ADHD and a dry sense of humor. I love plants and animals, and I'm outsidey but not outdoorsy. I'm always reading at least 3 books at once (fiction, non-fic, maybe some poetry or essays). Free Palestine.
