About My Clients

Trauma happens at any time and place, from big and small events, and even when others say it didn't happen. Our earliest experiences shape how we view ourselves and how we interact in the world. If you are struggling with difficult and overwhelming feelings, repetitive thoughts, and overall stress, depression or anxiety, what you are feeling is real. We'll work to validate your experiences, identify ways to cope, develop more effective ways of communicating and build healthier relationships.

My Background and Approach

Through art and conversation, I will attempt to help you understand what in life is making you unhappy, and what can be done to change it. I approach therapy through an ACT based lens in which we define what YOUR values are and the life that YOU want (as opposed to what others might tell you they should be) I often take a spiritual, Jungian approach as oracle cards, star signs, tarot (and more!) can be very helpful tools in understanding your own mental health. In addition to trauma, I specialize in working with queer young adults, have experience and interest working with disassociative identity disorder (DID), and I am working more each day to acquire skills to better serve the community.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and take an active role in advocacy. I have personal experience with exploring my identity and transitioning socially and physically. I have a special interest in how disordered eating affects LGBTQ identities and understand that the underlying issues of food-related behaviors are very different than what is typically seen in the cisgender-heterosexual community. I also have an interest in blending aspects of pop culture with therapeutic approaches to make therapy more relevant and accessible for young adults. I am a fan of Legend of Zelda and hope at some point to create a therapeutic Dungeons and Dragons group. If you want to learn more about how I offer therapy that doesn't feel like traditional therapy definitely send me a message so we can chat more.
