About My Clients
Do you feel that some aspects of your life are not where you expected them to be? Do you have difficulty putting yourself first and choosing healthy relationships? Do you notice that you second guess yourself often? Are you feeling like there are so many challenges to deal with at once, that it is hard to know how to tackle it all? I have been treating clients as they navigate through various difficulties, and working with them to understand how they got to this point, and how to move forward.
My Background and Approach
I am a clinical psychologist who has been licensed for over 20 years. I believe that processing family of origin issues can be extremely beneficial in understanding clients' challenges in their current lives, including anxiety, depression, difficult relationships with others, codependency, and navigating major life events. In addition to working at various non-public schools and clinics, I provided supervision and individual and family therapy at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, where I was also the Clinical Services Coordinator to Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children. I earned my master's degree at Pepperdine University, and my doctorate at Alliant University. I obtained post-doctoral training in analytical psychology and sandtray work at the Jung Institute in Los Angeles. I am very client centered in my approach, and provide a comfortable and supportive atmosphere in my sessions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that understanding our past really does help us to make thoughtful decisions about how we want to live our lives now. Instead of being reactive, we are able to process where our thoughts, feelings and behaviors originated, and how to change them, so that we can live healthier and more fulfilling lives. I believe therapy can empower clients to "get unstuck" and to find ways to focus on creating and achieving personal goals.
