About My Clients
We work with adults (18+) across Washington State seeking to heal from trauma, anxiety, and difficult life transitions. Our clients often include members of the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, immigrants, and neurodivergent individuals. Many come to us feeling stuck in survival mode or weighed down by systemic oppression. We partner with clients who are looking for a safe, gender-affirming, and culturally responsive space to process their past and step into a place of resilience.
My Background and Approach
Kirkland EMDR Counseling is a Washington State teletherapy group practice founded on the belief that healing is both an individual and collective journey. Our background is rooted in social justice, anti-racism, and intersectional advocacy. Our team of compassionate, licensed therapists provides accessible, culturally responsive care designed to dismantle systems of marginalization in the therapeutic space. Our clinical approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and evidence-based, specializing in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). We view therapy as a partnership, moving at your pace so you never feel rushed. While EMDR provides a structured framework, we tailor it to your unique needs, integrating somatic skills and mindfulness to help you regulate your nervous system. Together, we explore the biological, relational, and systemic barriers keeping you stuck, helping you safely process trauma and step into a future built on strength and resilience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At Kirkland EMDR Counseling, our foundational belief is perfectly captured by Desmond Tutu: “My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together.” We recognize that trauma does not happen in a vacuum. We live in a society with systems that perpetuate harm, marginalization, and white supremacy, impacting bodies of all shapes, genders, sizes, and colors. Because of this reality, we believe that true healing must be both an individual and a collective journey. Our team is deeply committed to inclusivity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression. We strive to actively dismantle systems of marginalization within the therapeutic space, ensuring it is a brave, destigmatized environment where you can show up exactly as you are. We believe that your intersecting identities matter. By honoring your cultural background and understanding the influence of privilege and oppression, we provide care that truly respects you and empowers your inherent resilience.
