About My Clients
What if you could have an open and honest conversation about what’s troubling you without fear of judgment? I treat adults who have mood and anxiety issues, difficulties dating, or are experiencing conflict with their partner or spouse. I specialize in treating women who are struggling with infertility or infant loss, and expectant/new mothers and fathers who are depressed or anxious.
My Background and Approach
It’s easy and natural to keep your guard up if you’ve been hurt or misunderstood in the past, but holding on to anger, disappointment, and grief is no way to live. You can learn to let go of the old pain and resentment, and I can help with that. Together we will work on deepening your awareness of the old, unhelpful patterns of relating to others that are causing you to be depressed or anxious. We can discover new insights about you that can reveal new, more useful ways of understanding yourself, and give you the freedom to make different choices and stop suffering in silence.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent more than 20 years helping historically underserved communities across the country develop inclusive programs and policies to end violence against women and children through grassroots advocacy and systemic change. My clinical practice is informed by intersectionality, existentialism, and an understanding of how each individual's distress is shaped by personal history and their interactions with social structures.
