I have 15+ years of experience providing career counseling in university and private practice settings. I am trained to administer MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory, and True Colors assessments. I address the VIPS - Values, Interests, Personality, and Skills. Additionally, I include resume review and practice interviewing as part of the process. Career counseling can be helpful for adolescents and young adults as they transition to college and beyond, as well as mid-career change adults.

I have had significant training and experience working with adolescents and adults regarding their gender identity. I have assisted individuals and families in understanding gender as separate from sexuality, and have written support letters for both social and medical aspects of transition. Additionally, I have co-created and co-presented multiple trainings for other mental health professionals on providing fully inclusive and affirmative care.

I am an active ally in the community, providing training for other mental health professionals, and acting as a past Board member for PFLAG San Antonio. I am trained and skilled in addressing the concerns of LGBTQ+ individuals and couples. Some of these include but are not limited to: the coming out process, self-acceptance and self-care, families of origin who are not accepting, bullying, religious abuse, body image, healthy relationships, and career concerns.

Our search for meaning and identity is often difficult in a culture that is more and more dominated by preoccupation with partisan politics, likes, shares, and followers. Though we are often not in control of external circumstances, our ability to determine our own meaning and lessons from our experiences still remains. Our early development contributes significantly to our ability to form healthy, safe, and productive relationships with family, partners, children, friends, and co-workers. Neurodiverse folx often develop hyper-independence in order to cope with attachment rifts. Understanding your attachment style can contribute to greater understanding of yourself and others. Becoming aware of our patterns enables us to change and adapt to create healthier, happier, and more fulfilling relationships.

Additionally, we cycle through periods of Positive Disintegration that are often misunderstood by others and even ourselves.
