About My Clients
Do you ever feel like life is just meh? Do you feel like there can be something more than your everyday home-work-home cycle? Or, have you ever been mistreated because of your race or size? I know how all those feel, and it can leave us feeling anxious, untethered, or alone. I want you to have the support and skills you need to thrive in your daily life, even when it's not going to plan.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in mental health since 2010 and have been a licensed Social Worker since 2013. I am here to help you understand your symptoms through education, teach you skills you can use anywhere, and provide a safe space to guide you through those difficult or uncomfortable times. We'll start by getting to know each other to build a therapeutic relationship and go through what brought you to therapy. You'll leave the session with goals and a plan of how we will work together. Throughout our time together, I will teach you how to calm your body and mind, shift perspective, and get unstuck from the daily grind.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an advocate and champion for people in marginalized communities. I know what it feels like to be judged, passed over, ignored, and accused. I believe in health at every size and that it's also okay if you don't love all of your stretch marks (*raises hand*). I am a single parent, supporter, and cheerleader for all parents --it's rough out here! Everyone deserves dignity and respect, regardless of race, gender, or background.
