About My Clients
I specialize in working with all types of First Responders and their immediate family members. I am trained in helping this culture with the unique needs that arise from serving their communities. With both personal experience, as a law enforcement officer's wife & an officer's mother, and specialized training in working with first responders, I am able to offer a safe, completely confidential space to begin a therapeutic journey.
My Background and Approach
I have 25 years experience in the first responder culture. I understand the language, shift work, admin issues, family life, and traumas that come with this type of work. I am clinically trained in helping responders and their families work through these stressors to help restore hope and peace in their lives. I am a Certified First Responder Counselor through the premier training facility in the country for therapists and have attended the C.O.P.S Traumas of Law Enforcement trainings for four years. My client load is 75% first responders. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD as main approaches in treatment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to restore hope and peace to their lives. Our first responder culture is often overlooked when discussing mental health. My goal is to provide professional, culturally competent counseling services to this culture so they can live life fully. I believe confidentiality is the backbone of servicing this culture. With this in mind, I provide a safe, non-judgmental, completely confidential environment for responders to feel free to speak about their needs and goals for therapy. Together we can restore hope and peace to your life.
