About My Clients
If your middle name is “Too Much,” “Not Enough,” “Out of Control” or “Unloveable” I’ve got you. I support folks who are up in their heads, struggling with self-trust and love. Having an unbalanced body and brain due to sexual trauma, disordered eating, relational betrayal, and/or neurodivergence can cause a lot of pain but that doesn’t have to be you. I help folks: Address feeling out of control for more safety. Learn somatic skills to be calm and connected. Build strong relationships.
My Background and Approach
Having worked through sexual assault, disordered eating, and relational struggles, I know firsthand how to heal issues of self trust and love. Inspired by this journey, I love guiding people along their own path. I do so with a holistic, creative, and spiritual approach that is grounded in evidence-based modalities like Internal Family Systems and EMDR. Additionally, I teach people somatic skills and resources to help them feel safer in their bodies and relationships. I enjoy empowering my clients to discover or re-discover themselves through collaborative, healing creativity. I bring my enjoyment of dance, yoga, mindfulness, writing, and visual arts into sessions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy is all about the relationship so it's important clients know my values: *Non-pathology* I have gotten to know the essence of a wide range of behaviors and we are always getting something from what we do otherwise we wouldn’t do it. I help client identify what this is to form new approaches. *Compassion* Life has shaped all of us in various forms of shame and pain. I strive to hold myself and clients with the utmost kindness and respect. *Curiosity* Often what we have disowned, made secret, or abandoned ends up controlling us. Cultivating curiosity can be a pathway towards self-compassion and living well. *Inclusion* Trauma is often rooted in the systematic oppression that pervades our social fabric. I bring cultural humility and social justice values to my practice. I also bring a Health at Every Size (HAES) mindset to my work with disordered eating.
