Hi, I’m Kimberly. Some would call me a truth seeker and speaker, believer in authenticity, and advocate for vulnerability.
Mental Health Counselor in Oviedo, FL
I help people who want to live more fulfilled lives. Often times this boils down to relationships with others and certainly with self. When we hide parts of ourselves – the messy parts, the tough parts, the parts we’re ashamed of – we don’t show up fully and therefore don't give others the opportunity to love ALL of us. I use Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help my couples achieve better communication, connection and fulfillment.
I am a Certified Sand Tray Therapist and enjoy utilizing sand tray for many topics my clients bring to therapy. "Is that just for kids?" No! It's great for children who cannot completely communicate their thoughts and feelings yet and because children learn and express through play. However, in my experience it is even more beneficial for adults because they are able to be more insightful about their tray. Sand tray is excellent for anyone who doesn't want to only do traditional talk therapy.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is the gold standard in trauma treatment. It is also extremely helpful for anxiety, intrusive thoughts/memories, and mind/body work.
Completed Levels I and II of Gottman Method Couples Counseling, specializing in enhancing connection and communication to achieve greater fulfillment in relationships and marriage. Level III is the practicum level, which I will be completing in 2019.
I enjoy working with women who struggle with the daily stressors of life - sometimes they're chosen and other times they're not. Whether the adjustment you're going through is big or small, I'm here to help. Women are the backbone of humanity and we need and deserve support! Whether it's relationships issues, pregnancy/postpartum, anxiety, trauma, or grief/loss, we can work together to help you dig deep to address the source of pain and then heal. Call or message me today.
Working in a high school setting as the mental health counselor for four years provided me an in-depth understanding of the issues teens deal with in today's time and society. I work with teens who experience stress, family conflict, anger, self-esteem struggle, trauma, interpersonal conflicts, depression, anxiety and more. While I loved my time working in the school, I appreciate even more my time in the private practice setting because of the ability to work with the family unit when needed.
