About My Clients
My clients often feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected and are ready for meaningful change. I support individuals facing stress, grief, and identity shifts, offering a safe, nonjudgmental space to process experiences, build resilience, and develop practical tools for everyday life. Navigating school, relationships and the world can feel scary and paralyzing, let me support you to learn how to take back your emotional control.
My Background and Approach
I offer compassionate, individualized, solution-focused therapy in a calm, confidential environment. My career path includes hospice social work, clinical private practice and teaching and administration in higher education. I believe that effective change is created when the therapist and client are on the same team, striving toward the same goal. I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults in individual and couple sessions. I specialize in depression, grief counseling, anxiety, caregiver support, young adults and teens, relationship issues, life adjustments. By utilizing a mosaic therapeutic approach, I strive to empower my clients toward positive change. Life can be difficult. We all need someone to help us explore and discover what is making us afraid, sad, anxious, or hopeless. I admire your courageous act to seek assistance and believe it is the first step to getting your life where you want it to be!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Through my role at Oakland University and with PFLAG, I am able to walk alongside young adults to support them through life transitions that can feel scary or uncertain. With a background in medical and hospice care, I provide compassionate advocacy and emotional support to patients and caregivers at end of life. I also help individuals and couples break unhelpful behavior patterns, improve communication, and navigate conflict with care. Additionally, I support parents managing the stress, guilt and self-doubt that comes with raising children. Women face unique challenges in midlife, I help them build resilience and healthier coping strategies. I have been a therapist since 1998 (writing that makes me feel old!) and have enjoyed every minute of working with clients.
