In my 18 years of practicing psychotherapy I have utilized many therapeutic approaches that have been helpful to my clients. In therapy and performance work with clients, I have found Brainspotting and EMDR to be the most transformative and powerful. They go beyond just talking and access the deep connection between brain and body and are able to facilitate the inherent human capacity for healing. I have witnessed people recover from painful experiences and release blocks that have been held unconsciously in the mind and body.
- In my work with couples I utilize the Gold Standard relationship therapy, EFT. EFT does more than help you communicate better, it can deepen a couple's bond and redesign how they relate to one another for lasting positive change. When relationships are better, each person feels better, and so do the people around them.
All are welcome in my practice. I seek to create and safe and inclusive environment.
Compassion, honesty, and humor are key aspects of my approach. I have a profound respect for the human spirit and believe that we all have the capacity to experience life meaningfully-- with purpose and joy. We all have struggles and we all have gifts and I consider therapy as a way to gain insight and use all of it towards growth for ourselves and others. I try not to discriminate. I believe in social justice and racial equity. I know I have blind spots and work on checking myself and my privilege. I hold both Christian and Buddhist beliefs and find spirituality to be an important part of this human life but, know that can show and many different ways.
