It can be surprising to find that even when changes are good or wanted they can wreak havoc on your sense of wellbeing. Life transitions such as becoming a parent, getting divorced or becoming caretaker to aging parents are shifting your relationships with those around you and most importantly with yourself. Together we’ll clarify what’s most important to you, learn to grieve ambiguous losses and ultimately, integrate your new identities into a core sense of who you are.

You’ve experienced hard times before but lately it feels like things have gotten out of hand. Together we’ll clarify what’s most affecting you and explore a variety of stress management techniques to help you get back on track: mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

In many ways you are highly successful, but deep down you know something is not quite right. Experiences in your childhood are impacting your relationships, the way you parent, and the way you see yourself. While it likely did not begin with you, it's possible that the pain of intergenerational trauma can end with you. With my relational approach to psychotherapy, we can “go back and get” that which was lost, unlock the power of your unique story, and support you with writing the next chapter.

I have completed 40 + hours of didactic and practical training in EMDR to reprocess stressful and traumatic memories. Many clients that experiences EMDR with me report being surprised find that experiences that have plagued them most of their lives, become neutral or no longer relevant to the way they live their lives, often in a matter of a few sessions.

Often times thoughts flow through our minds so quickly they feel automatic: like undisputed facts about who we are or the way the world works. But in reality, when we slow things down, analyze nature of these thoughts and how they connect to our feelings, body sensations, we can learn to develop understanding of the core beliefs fueling the thoughts and more control over the way we show up in the world.

I use the AEDP change triangle with clients to help them understand how unconscious defenses such as avoidance, sarcasm, and perfectionism as well as inhibitory emotions such as anxiety, shame and guilt get in the way of feeling their true feelings. Clients that experience AEDP report the initial nervousness around sitting in their feelings, eventually gives way to a open-hearted, confident self that makes this type of treatment so invaluable to them.

With over 60+ hours of didactic and consultation in CBT over the past 4 years, I work with clients to understand the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and body sensations. We we do this we expose the core beliefs fueling thoughts are that not true or not helpful to the life you wish to life today. In the short term, we learn strategies to analyze and reframe faulty thinking causing distress and in the long term, we work to address and reprocess core beliefs at the root.
