About My Clients
Having a safe place without judgment to focus on difficult issues, can be the growth spot for change. I have a broad range of interest which includes helping people with relationships issues, purpose, parenting, anger, anxiety and depression. My therapeutic approach is tailored to each individual’s needs, with focus on self-acceptance and courage to make small changes. I work with adults and teenagers.
My Background and Approach
I have an degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a Masters in Social Work from East Carolina University. I have been licensed from the North Carolina Board since 2009. My professional experience is varied, having worked in various settings (home based, hospitals, dialysis centers and private offices). This gives me a broad perspective on many different life stressors and issues.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that finding meaning and purpose is a an important aspect of emotional health. For me this is found through spirituality, family and professional work. For others it may be very different, and the diversity of values and meaning interest me deeply.
