About My Clients

Are you struggling with the idea of being sober forever? Do you feel embarrassed, even ashamed about the amount of time lost from blackouts or being hungover? Are you noticing life is difficult to cope with because you're easily set off or conversely all around numb? I get it. You're sick & tired of hurting yourself and others, and I don't want you to have to bear that pain anymore. Therapy can help you build awareness of what's really going on, release that pain, and heal old wounds effectively

My Background and Approach

I have 10 years of experience working with individuals navigating how to cope with life differently than having to rely on alcohol or other drugs to do so. Additionally, my personal experience with letting shame and substances go tends to help my clients feel seen and truly validated. I've been told I know how to "read the room," which helps to recognize what is and isn't working, establishing greater trust with my clients and better outcomes for your healing process. My goal for you is to create a life that's so good with new ways of doing things you won't think twice about wanting to alter your reality. Together we'll identify the cues and signals you experience in your body, then pair those with new routines that help you release stored up tension. Instead of shutting down, you'll feel a greater sense of control and handle stress with ease. We'll address old wounds by healing those conflicting inner parts, ultimately creating greater self compassion, trust, harmony, and healing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everyone has the capacity to make changes to their life no matter how old, challenging, or far gone they think they are. I believe everyone is worthy and deserving of love & belonging, and deserve to feel a sense of peace & safety. I think many people don't start life with a fighting chance, creating inner, then outer chaos as we grow into adults. I believe many therapists tend to push their agenda or mold onto clients, which doesn't really serve anyone. Throughout my career I've learned more by watching others/ personally getting things wrong than getting it right, which better helps my clients (aka you) today! I don't believe in asking you to do anything I wouldn't personally do or haven't done as a client. I don't believe 12 step modalities alone end the cycle of addiction, however can be a useful tool to some. Politically I lean to the left, but if you don't I truly don't mind. Children aren't in my life trajectory. Prove me wrong but I think my dog is cuter than yours :)
