My Background and Approach
Cognitive behavioral therapy is the cornerstone of my approach, but I try to tailor my methods to each person. I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas and I completed my master's degree at Sam Houston State University in 2008. I have been working with clients in private practice for seven years. I also work at an area university helping students succeed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has talents and abilities that are hard to measure with traditional assessments. I know many of my clients have been assessed many times before and may dread it. I encourage everyone of focus on a positive mindset that spotlights your competencies and strengths. Then we can make a plan that matches what you're good at instead of working solely on what you feel like you lack.
