About My Clients
I am passionate about working with folks experiencing trauma symptoms, anxiety, and depression. Many of my clients come to therapy wanting to work on a specific issue or symptom that is feeling increasingly difficult to manage on their own. A few of my specialty areas include working with LGBTQIA+ folks as well as creatives. I also love working with fellow therapists and those in other helping professions.
My Background and Approach
I have been a trauma therapist for 15 years, and received my Master's in Social Work from NYU in 2008. I lived and worked in New York City for 10 years prior to moving to Nashville in 2016. I believe that connection is a vital piece of the healing process. I show up to this work as a human being first, and therapist second. You can count on me to be compassionate yet honest with you, and also bring a sense of humor to sessions. I enjoy creating a space where clients can connect with themselves in new ways, and safely explore whatever is most needed. I am EMDR Certified, and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, am also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. In therapy you will have space to explore how the events from your past may still be contributing to life’s challenges today – and keeping you stuck in patterns of suffering and symptoms that aren’t getting better. I will work with you to effectively treat these issues so you can live fully, as your most authentic self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all of us can benefit from additional support in different seasons of our lives. It takes bravery to reach out and meet with someone, and I’m passionate about building a relationship with my clients where they are able to engage with their own resilience and innate ability to heal. Many of us develop patterns that help us move through and cope with what we have experienced, and often, we realize these strategies are no longer serving us, and are keeping us from experiencing the full life we desire. I walk alongside my clients in helping them become reconnected to their true selves, and reach their goals. I am a gender affirming, sex positive, and inclusive therapist that welcomes all identities. I consider it an honor to hold space for your unique story.
