About My Clients
I offer deep support to clients confronted with a terminal illness or the loss of a close friend or family member. Navigating the emotional landscape of grief and creating pockets of clarity amidst the chaos of overwhelm is some of my most meaningful work done with clients.
My Background and Approach
I began working with families in my career as a Midwife. I was a practicing Licensed Midwife and Certified Professional Midwife for 12 years before becoming a psychotherapist. Attending births and being with women and their families during pregnancy, birth and postpartum provided me with hundreds of opportunities to sit with suffering and joy and to accompany others in the most deeply human experience. This is what can happen in the therapy room as well. I believe there is no one way to treat all people, and therefore have an integrative psychotherapeutic style that combines person-centered approaches with other evidence-based methods including solution-focused and mindfulness. I believe that a compassionate, non-judgmental atmosphere creates a foundation in which trust can allow a therapeutic relationship to develop. A therapist accompanies and supports personal growth, the development of goals and creates profound safety for deep suffering. This is where positive change happens.
