About My Clients
I acknowledge that each individual brings a unique history and experience that needs to be honored. I will walk and grow with you as you rediscover connection and embrace your full self. Healing is possible through accessing your own internal resources, building on capacity and self-determination, and empowering you to tend to your well-being and to show up as your full self. All feelings are welcome.
My Background and Approach
In counseling, I work from a depth perspective through a social justice lens. I take a collaborative approach, challenging clients to examine the self and raise one’s consciousness to create deeper understanding and insight to make meaningful change. It is important to the work to name the systems in which all experiences are framed. The denial of equal rights and opportunities can have detrimental effects on mental and emotional well-being. I want to acknowledge the unique mental health needs of those who have experienced historical, intergenerational, and racial trauma. Additionally, I use a holistic and integrative therapy approach that addresses the experiences of the mind, body, soul, and community. I use mindfulness-based and restorative practices, relational and emotional experiencing, nature, music, and somatic modalities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy is a space to learn about possibilities and expand our capacity to show up and be in the world more fully. Mind and body stress, emotional overwhelm, depression, and anxiety are all signs you have been experiencing too much or too little of something for too long. Together, we will work toward resourcing mind and body, time, space, permission, and protection to increase your capacity for engaging in your life more presently.
