About My Clients

My clients may be navigating difficult life situations such as stressful work environments, neurodivergence, inequity in domestic labor, challenges related to maternal mental health, parenting, special education advocacy, and other crises. We will work together to build coping skills, confidence and achieve stability; enhancing your relationships and self-advocacy. Ultimately, the goal is not only symptom relief but also deeper self-awareness and empowerment in your life.

My Background and Approach

My career has been dedicated to community mental healthcare for adults, teens and children; often in crisis or at a cross roads. I am a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid trainer, Crisis Intervention Team trainer for law enforcement, and certified in Critical Incident Stress Management. I work from a psychodynamic approach, helping adults gain insight into how past experiences shape present behaviors and relationships. With youth I draw from collaborative problem solving and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy. However, I believe in tailoring care to each individual and often incorporate other modalities to provide the treatment plan that's just right for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I entered the human services field at 15, driven by my experiences growing up in Woodstock, NY to hippie parents, a single mother, and a father who struggled with homelessness and mental illness. My early work as a street outreach worker and creator of a teen hotline solidified my belief that mental healthcare is as essential as physical healthcare. These personal experiences shape my empathetic and trauma-informed approach as a psychotherapist. I provide compassionate, effective care that addresses the whole person. Outside of my practice, I find grounding in gardening, genealogy (particularly around my Armenian heritage), and foraging for edible mushrooms. Fun fact: if I didn't pursue clinical social work, I would have become an attorney with the goal of working for the ACLU.
