My Background and Approach
My work focuses on nurturing the parts of you that you've rejected or judged, while gently challenging you to trust and grow. I provide a compassionate, loving space where we can bring awareness to your body's sensations, hold space for your emotions, and unravel the false beliefs that are holding you back from living a more rich, authentic life. I understand the vulnerability that arises when you trust someone to support you on this journey. You are the expert on yourself, and I prioritize humility, transparency, and responsiveness to your feedback in our therapeutic relationship. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a land-steward and live in intentional community in the Gulf South. My work is informed by social justice theory, decolonial/hospicing modernity and eco-psychology. I feel deeply that the current Western paradigm of mental health care does not do justice the complexity of living a life with integrity in these times. As a bridge between those worlds my goal is to find what helps you to feel well. I firmly believe in calling in the full spectrum of tools, from meds to support groups to spiritual guidance to nature to help you achieve your wellness goals and priorities. I believe in the capacity of the human heart to feel whatever it comes in contact with and the capacity of the human body to hold it with integrity. I believe that with compassionate presence, all manner of change and transformation becomes possible, which is what I commit to in my sessions.
