About My Clients
As a counselor, I am most certainly open to and trained in working with issues of depression, anxiety, stress, and other symptoms that you may be experiencing. But, to say it another way, those symptom are usually tied to specific situations and events. Examples include starting/ending of close relationships, specific family concerns, seeking a deeper purpose in your life, religious/spiritual concerns, career/work changes, becoming a parent, transition into college, or men's/dad's issues.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the State of New York. Over the past 16 years my career path has taken me through Florida, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and now my home in Rochester, NY. I have experience in community mental health, crisis response, university career education, academic college success coaching, training programs for future counselors, and private practice as a mental health counselor. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology, a master's in mental health counseling, and a doctorate in counselor education from the University of Florida. My goal as a counselor is to shape our work around the needs, goals, and overall direction you want to take in your life. If you have very focused, concrete issues you want to address, we’ll use a solution-focused approach to create plans and strategies for focused change and growth.
