About My Clients
You might be the dependable one at work and at home, yet lately you feel anxious, worn down, or disconnected. Maybe your relationship has drifted, a divorce or loss has upended your life, or you are caring for a parent while juggling everything else. I work best with adults who are ready for honest conversation and practical tools, not just a place to vent. Men who find it hard to open up are especially welcome here. If you want real change, I would be glad to help.
My Background and Approach
The tools I offer come from years of helping people just like you. I am direct and solution focused, and I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). With CBT, you will learn to catch and change the thoughts that fuel anxiety and low mood. With ACT, you will learn to stop fighting difficult feelings and move toward what matters to you. Solution-focused work keeps us centered on your strengths and on what is already working. We will start with what is bothering you right now and build practical skills you can use between sessions, so you feel progress early. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master's degree from Syracuse University and more than 22 years leading a large nonprofit healthcare community. I understand pressure, family dynamics, and life transitions firsthand, and I bring that real-world perspective to every session. My goal is for you to leave therapy with tools you can use for life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people can grow and move forward at any stage of life. It does not matter how long you have been struggling or how many times you have tried before. A better way forward is possible, and you do not have to wait until things fall apart to start. I also believe most of what keeps us stuck was learned along the way, which means it can be unlearned. Therapy is not about being broken; it is about building better tools. I value honesty, respect, and a good sense of humor. Everyone is welcome in my office, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or background. You will be treated with dignity here. Outside of work, you will find me at the pottery wheel. Ceramics teaches me patience, and the reminder that something lopsided can always be reshaped, which is not a bad metaphor for therapy. If you would like to learn more about how I can help, send me a message.
