It is important that you feel a connection with your therapist and that your therapist is a good fit for you. Your experience - the reason you are seeking therapy - is unique to you. I work with you so that you feel that your experience is heard and understood. It is from this shared understanding of who you are, where you come from, and what it is that you are looking for, that we can begin to work together to empower you to make decisions, develop skills and identify changes that will positively impact your life. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 7 years experience with specializations in working with the LGBTQ population and survivors of trauma. I am trained as a relational psychotherapist having completed additional post graduate training in relational psychoanalysis. Prior to receiving my Master's I worked in the non profit sector at the LGBT Center in NYC.

I changed careers to do this work as a result of volunteering 20 hours a week at an after school program for homeless youth and their families while working in another field. I encountered a great deal of trauma and racial injustice in this work. I realized my passion for my volunteer work was strong enough that I wanted to go back to school to train to do the work that I am so passionate to be doing right now. I care deeply about this work and it is not simply a job. I am an active member of the LGBTQ community including having worked and participated in countless social justice initiatives associated with the LGBT Center of New York. I worked for years at a public mental health clinic, including as the assistant director, committed to equity for those living below the poverty line. I have personal experience with same sex adoption and bring an understanding of this niche within the LGBTQ experience to my work as well.
