About My Clients
Overwhelmed? Feeling tired, depressed, sad, anxious, angry? Struggling to go to work, engage with your family or loved ones, find joy in activities you used to love? Are you burdened with flashbacks, night terrors, or is something triggering a trauma event? These are distressing situations which can be alleviated. You do not need to suffer or struggle on your own; there is hope. If you reach out, collaboratively we can work towards regaining your quality of life, and the skills to maintain it.
My Background and Approach
The helping relationship - between you and me, is key to any progress in therapy. It will be the focus of the first few sessions. Without trust, not much can be accomplished. I view this opportunity as a privilege, and one I take quite seriously. It is important to me you feel like we are a good match. From there, you will drive and I will hold the map. You tell me where you would like to go, and my job is show you possible routes. Ultimately, you decide how to arrive at the destination. It may not be easy; it will be worth it!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Suicide prevention is close to my heart (in part) because a beloved classmate took her own life two years after our high school graduation. She was a star athlete, beautiful, smart... and suffering. I volunteer on a county Disaster Mental Health team as I feel it is important to give back to the community. I also volunteer as a tennis coach for Special Olympics.
