Are you looking for therapy honoring all of you, body, mind, & spirit, to help your challenges become doorways to healing & transformation?
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Berkeley, CA
I help clients heal from trauma using a combination of evidence-based therapies including EMDR, IFS-oriented parts work, somatic psychotherapy, and CBT. I've been working with clients with PTSD since 2005, and my approach is based in both untangling the roots of the past and helping you create new belief systems and positive supports in your life to cultivate your wholeness.
With the right support, I believe a stressful life transition can be a profound doorway to transformation. I help clients address anxiety & depression, break free from old limiting thought patterns, and explore who they authentically want to be through EMDR, IFS-oriented parts work, somatic psychotherapy, mindfulness, CBT, and depth therapy. I also have training in ecotherapy, expressive arts & movement, and coaching, which I may include when appropriate in our work together.
I have a spiritually-oriented approach to psychotherapy, drawing from my long term practices of Insight Meditation/Mindfulness, Buddhist philosophy, non-dual inquiry, and earth-based spirituality & ritual. I love working with clients for whom their spirituality is either already a central part of their life, or want they it to be!
I love to guide people in deepening their connection to the natural world, not just as a resource for peacefulness, healing, or a potent mirror, but as a source of true belonging. I have extensive training with the Animas Valley Institute, as well as the Earthbody Institute, and integrate ecotherapy into outdoor sessions, as well as video or office work with guided imagery and invitations to solo explorations in nature that promote deep psychological healing and wholeness.
Somatic Psychotherapy is one of the foundational approaches that I use in therapy and I blend Hakomi with EMDR and mindfulness-based practices. I believe that honoring the wisdom of the body gives us incredible insight into the unconscious, and is a highly effective way to heal old traumas and negative belief patterns. I have extensive expertise in mindfulness-based therapy (since 2005) and have been training in Hakomi since 2019.
EMDR is a powerful, evidence based treatment for trauma, as well as depression, anxiety, phobias, low self-esteem, creativity blocks, and relational challenges. I find that as a result of clearing traumatic memories with EMDR, many people experience a new sense of confidence, empowerment, freedom, and resilience. I am trained in both Basic and Advanced EMDR, including training in Attachment-Focused EMDR with Dr. Laurel Parnell.
