Maybe you feel on edge all the time, like you have no control over what could happen to you and your mind practically writes novels about ‘what if…?’ Or maybe you just can’t get out of bed, get motivated to do even the things that give you joy, you feel hopeless and can’t see any point, nothing gives you a sense of purpose. These are challenges we can work together on to guide you back to being happy and in control of your life.
My Background and Approach
I provide psychotherapy with respect, compassion, and a sense of humor to guide and walk alongside you. I focus on skill-building and helping you become who you want to be, using active non-judgmental listening and validation as well as CBT, DBT, structured proble,-solving, mindfulness techniques and hypnotherapy. I follow the Intentional Peer Support philosophy: that there is nothing wrong with you, and you are the expert on you. It's about working together to get you to a better place.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am officially a Buddhist but I'm not what you picture when that word comes up. My personal motto is from Helen Keller: life is a daring adventure. Adventures are hard, full of challenges, and sometimes take you down a mistaken pathway but the core of adventures, of life itself, is to follow your own heart's desire and own up to it when you mess up. You always learn something. A couple of other bits you might want to know: I'm cisgender and heterosexual. Currently a single sage traveling the world, I have been a single at-home mom as well.
