Everything we do is rooted in awareness and building awareness. Mindfulness it not about calming down, mindfulness is about taking an observational approach to impulses, emotions, stress and reactivity. Through art, yoga, meditation and journaling we work on building this awareness to create change and choice.
We use a signature Cycle of Stress model to address triggers, thoughts, actions and reactions to build awareness to and change responses and habits.
Anxiety is so much more than worrying and so much less than panic attacks. Anxiety is all the thoughts and thinking that takes you away from feeing present, joyful, optimistic, confident, and focused. We use mindfulness based techniques and CBT models to help you build awareness of your anxiety and then develop a relationship to manage it.
Women specifically carry a lot of stress related to the "mental load" of being a parent, a caregiver and managing issues related to social pressures, body image, household responsibilities, and her changing body and hormones. Women are not likely to ask for help, especially high-achieving women. We work with women to help them overcome feeling "not-enough", feel shame, guilt and a host of other emotions they tend to push away and down.

One in five women and one in ten men experience a mood disorder at the onset of a new baby. It is the most undiagnosed concern related to pregnancy and delivery! Too often parents dismiss strong and important feelings as just “part of the experience”. But what that does is enable parents to silently suffer.
