About My Clients
I have years of experience working with people changing their thought patterns and increasing their confidence. Particular issues I have worked with include body positivity, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, trauma, depression, anxiety, interpersonal skills, life transitions and men's issues.
My Background and Approach
I know that entering into therapy can be a nerve-racking process. Together, I would like to create an environment and therapeutic relationship that is as collaborative as possible and meets the needs you are looking to be met. I begin therapy by having a consultation call that helps us determine whether we are a good match. This is followed by an intake session during which I gain as comprehensive a picture as possible of what difficulties you may be experiencing so as to provide a smooth transition into therapy in following sessions. My approach is integrative and individualized, so sessions and progress look different for each individual. I am very open and enjoy feedback from my clients in order to be sure we both feel we are getting where we need to go.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am very excited about the increasing traction of the body positivity movement, including the Health at Every Size (HAES) movement and principles of respect, critical awareness, and compassionate self-care. There appears to be a paradigm shift that creates an environment that can allow us to love ourselves more easily, and I am here for it!
