My Background and Approach
My professional experience prior to becoming a counselor taught me ways to be creative in hard economic times and to not only prosper, but thrive. I have trained extensively in transgender affirming therapy and consider it a privilege and an honor to work with the LGBTQ population. I have worked with individuals and groups in community resource settings, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs for depression and anxiety. I am a resource and a safe haven for you to process your feelings, feel connected and be truly heard. If your fears and anxiety are spiraling out of control, together we will explore the transformation that can happen even in the darkest times. I am here to support you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have used therapy as a tool for growth throughout my life; from my adolescent years navigating grief and low self-esteem, to complex issues of adulthood. Counseling helped me to heal my heart after divorce and ultimately be open again to love later in life. Life is complicated and sometimes it is crucial to have someone assist you in that journey to get out of your head and have the clarity to see all that is possible for your future. Together, we can work on self-acceptance, self-compassion, and self-love; identify your values vs societal norms and expectations; Boundaries work and self-care; Improved communication
