About My Clients
I welcome all clients. I enjoy working with Individuals, couples and families from all races, cultures, age groups, and members of the LGBTQIA community across the lifespan. I have worked with individuals with anxiety, depression, history of trauma/abuse, substance abuse, communication issues and challenging life situations, helping them overcome obstacles hindering their success and happiness. I have also provided career counseling for individuals looking for the right career fit.
My Background and Approach
Keri holds a MA in Marriage, Family and Couples Counseling and is certified as an LPC-A in the State of Texas. She uses an eclectic approach pulling from the plethora of counseling theories to meet clients' unique needs. Keri has additional training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for treatment of PTSD and Trauma Treatment with EMDR and Somatic Interventions. She is currently pursuing further training with EMDR and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My aim is to provide space and empathy as you face challenges, work with you to develop the skills and provide the tools you need to tackle your challenges and live the life you dream of.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that meaningful change can be attained at any point in your life. I believe that all people have areas where growth and change could lead them to a healthier way of being. I understand that many of us learned unhealthy behaviors, need to support to unlearn them and replace them with healthier choices for a happier, more fulfilling life. I believe mental healthcare should be accessible to all without judgement or stigma. My background is in education and I moved on to counseling so I could help people on a deeper level.
