About My Clients
Sex therapy offers a safe space to be open and vulnerable to explore desire, sexuality, gender, communication, trauma, dysfunction and more. Whether you are single or in a relationship of any kind (married, unmarried, monogamous, polyamorous, LGBTQ+), it is important to know that you don’t have to be alone in this journey. You may be experiencing low or mismatched desire, sexual dysfunction, or any other sexual or gender identity issue. I am here to help you have the relationships you desire.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 20 years of clinical experience, and a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) through AASECT (American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists), I have had the honor and pleasure of working with many individuals and couples over the years, both in person and through telehealth. I utilize my background of being Gottman certified as one of my treatment modalities, focusing on where the client is at, and the importance of trust and communication in any relationship- including the therapeutic relationship we will have. I am a client centered therapist, and find the benefit of homework in between sessions. Putting what is discussed in the therapy session into real life practice is critical in making positive change occur. Goals change throughout therapy, and we will be checking in with one another throughout the therapy journey to make sure the goals are what is wanting to be worked on, in the most healthy ways.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an open minded and compassionate sex therapist, I have worked with both individuals and couples with diverse needs. As a Marriage and Family Therapist over the last two decades working with both children, adolescents, adults, couples and families going through many different life experiences, has only added to my clinical exploration and led me to where I am today as a sex therapist. We all have a story to tell. Our lives are full of hopes and dreams, fears and struggles. No matter if the client in front of me is an individual wanting to increase their level of sexual desire, a couple wanting to open their relationship, or someone wanting to work through sexual trauma, we all need someone to listen and support us. I consider myself to be an empathic therapist. I want to be a safe space for my client on their life journey of sexual exploration. I also know that it is not easy to go therapy, and I want to be someone who starts where the client is at.
