About My Clients
I work with folks who want to work through the difficulties they're having in relationships - both with themselves and other people - and are seeking support to work through issues that stem from complex trauma (CPTSD) and growing up in addicted, shaming, and dysfunctional environments. Common struggles include anxiety, chronic tension, depression, feeling stuck, procrastinating/avoiding, perfectionism, guilt, volatility, anger, confusion, communication difficulties, and boundary issues.
My Background and Approach
I practice through an experiential-centered, trauma-informed, attachment-focused, and anti-oppressive lens. I use an IFS-informed parts work approach to acknowledge, accept, and foster inner harmony amongst the various parts of yourself; EMDR to disentangle the inner narratives that no longer serve you; and somatic practices to assist you in partnering with your body to bring more calm, clarity, and courage.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a human first, social worker second, and therapist third, I’m passionate about dismantling oppressive relationship dynamics that reflect broader systems of discrimination, marginalization, and oppression. I believe that fostering interdependent relationships is essential for creating justice and equality in our world. My work often focuses on helping couples, particularly heterosexual couples, untangle the deep roots of patriarchy, addressing issues like the unequal distribution of mental, domestic, and childcare labor. I also work with individuals to help them navigate and break free from codependent patterns, reclaim their sense of autonomy, and cultivate healthy, interdependent relationships. By fostering understanding and equity, I aim to support clients in building more balanced, fulfilling, and just connections in their lives.
