About My Clients
I see clients of all backgrounds ages 14+, primarily struggling with problems such as depression, anxiety, trauma, imposter syndrome, high stress, and life transitions. My clients are typically very motivated to get better and put in the work both in and outside of the session. My clients tend to enjoy the rapport we build together in session, and appreciate my warm, empathetic, and serious yet humorous style!
My Background and Approach
I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and am currently pursuing a PhD in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. I have a vast variety of experience from outpatient to residential treatment centers. I am trained in DBT facilitation and EMDR. Pulling from cognitive approaches (such as CBT and DBT), and depth psychological, psychodynamic approaches, my lens is relational and eclectic. Whether you are in need of learning coping skills or processing events from the past, I'm here to help. I am not afraid to go deep in sessions with my clients, and I also respect the speed the client wants to go at. Each person is unique, therefore my approach is individualized to each person that comes in. Ready to start your healing journey? Please reach out here: https://sunraypsychotherapy.com/contact
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy is for everyone. Whether someone is labeled as the "black sheep" and the "golden child", there is no shame in seeking a safe space to process life. I have a very non-judgmental stance on all issues clients present with. I am an ally and am anti-discrimination. I am an immigrant, and culturally competant about many backgrounds, and I always love to learn from my clients what I may not know. I am open minded and welcoming. I come from a Jewish background, and have extensive knowledge on most major religions.
