About My Clients
I work with adults, couples, and families, especially people who have tried therapy before but still feel the deeper issue was never reached. Many are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, or a major life transition. They want honest feedback, clear direction, and work that goes beyond coping skills to the patterns underneath.
My Background and Approach
My approach is direct, depth-oriented, Jungian, and psychodynamic. I balance active listening with practical guidance and honest feedback, and I adjust the pace to the person in front of me. The work explores the patterns, relationships, and questions of meaning underneath anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. When it fits, I also use imagination, creativity, and music to reach places that words alone do not. I work in person with adults, couples, and families in Oak Park, Illinois, and I have been in practice for almost 30 years.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a person of faith. Judaism is my background, and I practice prayer and meditation daily. I feel that having a strong belief system (a religion, faith, or very personal spirituality) is crucial to truly live a life of meaning and joy. Belief in a power greater than ones own limited ego, provides a moral and value based framework to live by and navigate the different seasons of life. I enjoy working with people of different faiths and incorporating the client's faith and beliefs into therapy. Many times, clients either develop a new connection with their former faith, or that therapy helps strengthen their current faith, or spiritual practice.
